Nigel’s international litigation practice encompasses experience in dispute resolution in more than 50 different
jurisdictions. Nigel has significant experience in many of the international arbitration rules including; ICC
(London and Paris), UNCITRAL, various London arbitration rules, Bermuda arbitration rules and a number
of Latin American and European rules. Nigel also handles aviation liability claims on behalf of insurers with a
particular emphasis on Latin America and the Caribbean where he has acted as lead counsel in a number of
high profile fatal accidents over recent years.
Nigel’s insurance practice involves counseling insurers and reinsurers on a wide range of legal issues including
policy interpretation and e-discovery issues.
Nigel also handles product liability cases and has experience in both North America and Europe in defending
manufacturers, component manufacturers as well as conducting subrogation proceedings.
Experience
Representative cases include:
- Acting as lead counsel in various international arbitrations including significant commercial disputes
and insurance and reinsurance issues;
- Handling all aspects of various international and regional aviation accidents;
- Handling a variety of contractual and commercial disputes including intellectual property rights and
defective product issues;
- Acting in various arbitration proceedings on behalf of insurers and reinsurers in respect of policy
wording interpretation and the defense of reinsurers in relation to conflicts with overseas cedent
insurers;
- Providing e-discovery counseling and associated legal work for companies and insurers;
- Handling U.S. and international product liability cases
