Lei's research experience is extensive as well. She was a Senior Research Associate at a pharmaceutical Biotech company in Boston, working on isolation, expression and characterization of genes. Also, she was a Graduate Research Associate at the University of Arizona, investigating synthetic compound pharmacological properties and cloning of receptor proteins relating to pain research. In addition, Lei conducted post-doctoral research at Brigham & Women's Hospital of Harvard Medical School.
Lei is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Georgia Biomedical Partnership, the Georgia-China Alliance and the Chinese Business Association of Atlanta.
Lei earned a J.D., cum laude, from California Western School of Law in 2004. She received a Ph.D. in 1994 and an M.S. in 1992 from University of Arizona. Lei also received an M.D. from Nanjing Medical University in Nanjing, China, in 1989.
Prior to joining the firm, Lei gained legal experience as a patent agent and paralegal with firms in San Diego and Boston.
