Country Desk Officer, U.S. Dept. of State, Bureau of African Affairs

 

Dorsey Lockhart has served as a Presidential Management Fellow (PMF) at the U.S. State Department since November, 2006.  As a Country Desk Officer in the Bureau of African Affairs, she covers political and economic developments in Senegal, Guinea-Bissau and The Gambia.

 
 

Through the PMF program Dorsey has done two rotations within the U.S. Government.  From January through April 2008, she served as an International Economist in the Office of African Nations at the U.S. Treasury Department where she analyzed macroeconomic developments in Angola, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Lesotho, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.  During the summer of 2007, Dorsey spent four months as the Political Officer in the U.S. Embassy in Nouakchott, Mauritania.  

Dorsey holds a Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. She served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Chongqing, China from 2000 to 2002.  In her spare time, Dorsey enjoys running, swimming and travel.
